Day 12
This morning we enjoyed a home-cooked breakfast in the bar before continuing north. The road to Tibooburra was listed as caution but all was good, just one very small bit of water to go around.
Approaching Tibooburra is the turn off to Cameron Corner, disappointingly the road condition sign said closed. While getting fuel we enquired about the road, we were told they were assessing then and should know mid arvo if it was opening ðĪ
New plan. We backtracked to Milparinka to stay and reassess plan A in the morning.
Milparinka is a cool, old locality with building ruins that are being restored by volunteers. The camping fees go towards the restorations. Facilities are very good for this part of the world. Got some washing done ðĪŠ
In conversation over some barra with the publican, they said the Cameron Corner Rd had been open for a couple of days ððĪ unsure why the sign still said closed.
We had a fire cracking and were joind by a bloke who said he had come from Cameron Corner today with no issues. He's travelling in a ranger with his young family and didn't have to get out of 2WD... Game on!
Cameron Corner is a go.
